"Let me congratulate you on your great service. A friend recommended you and so I ordered as a spare for my usual specs. I will be back for all my glasses from now on now I can see the quality for myself. What a saving. Well done!." Malcolm Fisher

About spex2you.co.uk

Based in the United Kingdom, www.spex2you.co.uk was founded to provide the customer with a cheaper alternative to the more expensive high street opticians. Our motto is 'Focusing on value' which is exactly what we do. Our small, customer driven and helpful team are committed to providing YOU, the customer, with the best possible service we can. Our aim is to win your custom and to then keep it by way of excellent service and value for money.

We are committed to providing a high quality product at a vastly reduced price and deliver directly to your door. We are able to do this because we do not have any expensive high street premises and, although we do use qualified dispensing opticians, we do not directly have a lot of highly paid staff.

You can rest assured however that our frames and lenses are from reputable suppliers and are of the same quality that you see elsewhere and all are made up to your prescription by qualified dispensing opticians. Our lenses go through the same process as the glasses that you would buy from your own optician.

With ranges starting at just £15.00 for a prescription pair of glasses, and with the ordering process being so simple, you just cannot go wrong!

What you need to do

Visit your optician for an eye examination and obtain a prescription. Some opticians may be reluctant to offer you your prescription in the hope that you will purchase your glasses from them. The important thing to remember is that you have just paid for your eye test and that prescription belongs to you. It's your right to have this information and they MUST supply you with it whether they like it or not.

Order online

Once you have this prescription, you are in a position to log on to our site at www.spex2you.co.uk and start making some very real savings. Do not forget that our glasses and lenses are made and assembled to the same high standards as any other high street opticians. The only 'bit' that we cannot do online is the eye test!

We accept most types of credit and debit card payment using a 128 bit secure socket layer which is the most secure way of taking payments over the internet, so rest assured, you can shop with spex2you in confidence!

For more details about our secure payment methods please visit www.protx.co.uk and www.paypal.co.uk. These are our chosen payment service providers and offer you our customers the highest levels of security available when placing your order on our web site.

Choosing your glasses.

Decide on the amount that you want to spend and look at our quality ranges using the navigation buttons on the left. Most frames come in a variety of colours and sizes. If you have an existing pair of spectacles that fit comfortably then please have a look at the measurements on the arm.

This may look like this: 50 [] 20 135.

The first number 50 is the lens diameter. The second number 20 is the nose bridge width, and the third number 135 is the arm length.

If you have this information then look for a pair with similar measurements. You can add your lenses diameters to your bridge width and add 5mm each end (in our example, 50+50+20+5+5= 130) 130 is then the frame width or the best way we believe is to measure with a ruler as shown in the diagram below.

Choosing your lenses.

Single vision lenses: The majority of people will only require a single vision lens fitted to their glasses. If this is the option that you require then decide if the glasses are to be used for reading (near) or for computer work (intermediate) or everyday use (distance) If you are choosing your glasses for intermediate or near (reading) use, then your optician should have written this on your prescription under additions (ADD).

Choose your frames from our wide range of quality products and fill out the online order form exactly as it appears on your prescription. If you wish, you can scan your prescription and email it to us OR fax it being sure to put your order number in the email so we can tie your scanned prescription to your order.

Email: customerservices@spex2you.co.uk

Fax: 02380 454161

Bifocal lenses: Bi-focals are an option for people who require 2 lenses in 1. Reading and distance.

We only recommend that you choose this option if recommended by your optician. In this case we ask you to instruct your optician to make out the prescription as if the glasses were to be worn 12 - 13 mm from the eye.

Secure Payment Process.

You can pay online using most major credit and debit cards. Rest assured that we use an encrypted service for this payment so that your details are not visible to any one. Buying online from a reputable company such as www.spex2you.co.uk is a very secure process. We give you two choices of payment through our checkout 1). Protx - Protx are the UK's leading payment service provider using state of the art encrypted technology to secure your payment and protect you from any chance of fraud. We also give you the option of using your PayPal account as many people who shop online find this their most convenient and familiar option.

Trial Frames

We realise that many people like to try on a few frames before commiting to ordering with their prescription. Our site does specify frame widths and various other measurements which you can compare with spectacles you already have so you know that a prospective pair will fit you. However, Spex2you offer you a trial frames option which you can get to by clicking the 'TRIAL AT HOME' button on the product page of a particular pair of glasses you are viewing. To cover our administration and postage costs we do have to charge a fee for this which is £2.50 per frame.

This amount is non-refundable once the order is placed.

Once you have tried your chosen frames for style and size, please return them to us in the pre-paid envelope 3 days after receiving your order therefore ensuring that we receive them back within 7 days of you receiving your trial. Failure to do so will mean we will need to charge your card with the full value of the frames as stipulated on our website.

Once you have selected the pair that suit you most, simply return the trial frames back to us and order the full prescription pair from our secure site.
